Another NY Show Mystery Teaser Awaits to be Solved

type='html'>
|

Yesterday, it was an interior photo of a mysteryNew York Auto Show world premiere; today, the spies at Chris Doane Automotive shared a second cropped picture of an unrelated new vehicle, which they say, was forwarded to their email without any further details.
It's hard to tell from this angle, but if we were to make a wild guess, we'd say it could be a new model from a Japanese carmaker, possibly from Toyota or its youth-orientated Scion brand and in particular, the redesigned 2014 tC sports coupe, which is pegged for a New York Auto Show debut.

Tease, tease, tease…Only 12 days left for the opening (as in press day) of the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show and Citroen is the latest carmaker to release a cropped image and a shady video of one of the new concept cars it plans to debut at the event.The French manufacturer said that the Wild Rubis concept belongs to its more luxurious DS series, but stopped there stating that it will share more details on the study this Thursday, April 11.
While we can't really make out what it is in the official image and video, a grainy photo (possibly a screen shot from a promotional clip) of the car that surfaced online last month, suggests that the DS Wild Rubis is a concept for a mid-size or compact crossover.
As always, we'll try to find out more information and update you accordingly.

New Renault Teasers Solve the Riddle of the Mystery Concept: It's the TwinFun

|

On Tuesday, Renault shared a darkened image of an upcoming concept car scheduled to be unveiled on the sidelines of the 2013 Monaco F1 Grand Prix on May 24. Today, the French brand dropped two more pictures along with some added details but it stopped short from telling us what it is.
However, these two teasers are good enough to solve the mystery as it quickly becomes obvious that the concept is the "TwinFun" (or TwinRun)that was spied and filmed completely undisguised in late March this year while shooting a promo in Madrid, Spain.
According to the French automaker's press blurb, "This concept car was designed and developed entirely by Renault Design as an expression of the brand’s passion and an illustration of how different takes on the same small city car are possible."
The TwinFun is a racing variant of the Twin'Z Concept, but instead of the latter's electric powertrain, it appears to feature a rear-mounted petrol engine. Both these concepts are believed to preview the looks of the next generation Twingo that will share their powertrains, platform and rear-mounted engine, rear-wheel drive layout with the new iterations of the ForTwo city car and ForFour supermini.
