2012 Nissan 370Z gains Standard Oil Cooler, Base Manual Model Dropped from Roadster Range

type='html'>
|

Having entered the final quarter of 2011, automakers are ushering in their new model year lineups, though most of the times, there's nothing really "new" about the cars other than the different designations.That's more or less the case with the 2012 Nissan 370Z series. The only changes for the new model year concern the addition of an oil-cooler as standard on both body styles, while Nissan eliminated the base 370Z Roadster with the 6-speed manual, leaving the more expensive Touring model for those that want to manually change gears while enjoying the sun.
The 350-horsepower NISMO 370Z continues without any changes for 2012.
Pricing for the entire range including the 370Z Coupe and Roadster remain unaffected from 2011, but feel free to refresh your memory by checking out the list below, keeping in mind that MSRPs exclude tax, license fees and destination charges.

MSRP for the 2012 Nissan 370Z Coupe include:
370Z Coupe 6MT $31,450 USD
370Z Coupe 7AT $32,750 USD
370Z Coupe Touring 6MT $36,150 USD
370Z Coupe Touring 7AT $37,450 USD

MSRP for the 2012 Nissan 370Z Roadster include:
370Z Roadster 7AT $39,500 USD
370Z Roadster Touring 6MT $42,200 USD
370Z Roadster Touring 7AT $43,500 USD

MSRP for the 2012 Nissan NISMO 370Z is:
370Z Coupe NISMO 6MT $40,830 USD

Hamann's Range Rover-Based Mystere is Your Chrome Pink Ticket to Pimp-Land

type='html'>
|

This is easily one of the most eye-catching vehicles shown at the 2013 Geneva International Motor Show. German tuning firm Hamann really wanted to attract some attention, and they have succeeded with their new Range Rover-based Mystere.What it is, basically, is the new Range Rover, with a special body kit and rims, wrapped in pink-chrome wrap. With such a finish, the fact that the front fenders, bumpers and sills are custom-made pieces by Hamman does not really matter.
Nobody will notice the 80 mm wider stance, and the 40 mm lower suspension, simply because of the chrome wrap. It also comes with a choice of two different wheel designs (Edition Race or Unique Forged), both of which are 23-inch and thoroughly complete the decadent overall look of the vehicle.
We won't be petty and call it ugly or garish, as it is a matter of taste, but let's just say this pimped out Range Rover won't be to everybody's liking. Perhaps if they had done a more conventional finish on the body, it would not have attracted the attention that it did, so from a marketing point of view, at least, the Hamann Mystere is a success.
Besides, if you're really interested having them personalize your newly-acquired Range, they will finish the body in a color of your choice – you are paying, after all... Check it out in the video linked below, courtesy of Shmee150.

All-New Range Rover Sport to Debut Just Before the 2013 New York Auto Show

type='html'>
|

Land Rover has just announced that it will be revealing the all-new Range Rover Sport just before the 2013 New York Auto Show. They say it is "the fastest, most responsive and agile vehicle" they've made so far, so we are quite curious as to what we are left with when the wraps do come off.
The exact launch date is March 26, and if you can't quite find the time to go to New York to check it out, they will be broadcasting the launch event live, on a specially-created official site.
If you're wondering what this new Sport brings about, you'll be happy to know that it uses the same aluminum construction as the regular new Range, so it will be considerably lighter than its predecessor.
From the outside, it will get more aggressive styling at the front, as well as a redesigned rear end with a shorter overhang. The windscreen will also be more steeply-raked, to improve aerodynamics and its sporting appeal. The interior will be pretty much carried over from thestandard Range Rover, yet it should feature some unique touches, as well as a lower driving position.
The launch venue will also get a live drive through Manhattan, New York. They say that the area was chosen because more of their vehicles are sold in Manhattan, than in any other metropolitan area in the world, so it was a natural pick.

Merdad Converts New 2013 Range Rover into the Two-Door Highland GTC

type='html'>
|

After successfully completing its Porsche Cayenne 902 Coupe project and offering it for sale in 2010, UK-based coachbuilder and tuning firm Merdad Collection has now gone ahead and prepared the same two-door treatment for the latest generation of Land Rover's Range Rover luxury SUV.
Previewed in these images, the two-door version of the SUV is named the Range Rover Highland GTC. It ditches the regular model's rear doors and gains elongated front doors, as well as new alloys and a wide-body aero package that adds 92mm (3.62 inches) to the car's overall width, and includes wheel arch extensions, side skirts, new hood, roof spoiler and full carbon rear bumper, diffuser and tailpipe deflectors.
Merdad says it also performs a complete overhaul of the interior, and upgrades the suspension with a new electronic module that brings the SUV 40mm (1.6-inches) closer to the ground.
The British coachbuilder says it plans to offer the Range Rover Highland GTC coupe in four flavors with outputs ranging from 510hp to 700hp (517PS to 710PS) and prices from $209,000 (€163,000) to $485,000 (€377,000).
"Our involvement in the Porsche Cayenne Coupe project gave us invaluable knowledge through research and development, which we are now applying to the Range Rover Highland GTC, to deliver a perfect supercar, inside and out," said Merdad in a statement.
Aside from the coupe model, the exterior and interior improvements will also be available for the standard five-door version of the 2013 / 2014 Range Rover.
Pricing:
1- Range Rove 3.0 Litre: $209,000
2- HSE 4.4 Litre: $228,000
3- Supercharged 5.0L: $239,000
4- 700 GTC Range Rover Coupe Racing 4 Seater: $485.000

Are These the First Official Photos of the New 2014 Range Rover Sport?

type='html'>
|

Carscoops readers are filling up our email box with tips today, the latest one being these two purportedly official images of Land Rover's brand-new 2014 Range Rover Sport that appeared on a German-language blog.From what we can tell, these shots match the three photos of the second generation Range Rover Sport that was spotted in a window-tinting shop earlier this month, so chances are they are real.
It won't be long before we find out, though, as Land Rover will reveal the new Range Rover Sport on Tuesday, March 25, on the eve of the New York International Auto Show.
Land Rover's all-new Sport shares its all-aluminum, bonded and riveted PLA (Premium Lightweight Architecture) platform and engine range with the fourth generation of the Range Rover, meaning that it will benefit from a similar reduction in weight of up to 300 kg (661 pounds).
Engine choices are expected to include a new 335hp supercharged V6 gasoline unit as well as the usual crop of supercharged V8 gasoline, and V6 and V8 turbo diesels (depending on the region).
Visual differences from the bigger Range Rover include the lower roofline, reworked profile detailing and the more aggressive designs of the front and rear ends.
