The Alfa Romeo 4C was one of the highlights of the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. It is Alfa's attempt at being taken seriously again by the performance and sports car crowd, so it really needs to prove itself out on the road for that to be possible.
However, until the first tests and reviews are in, you can at least hear what the 4C sounds like. The video below, shot by OmniAuto, shows the 4C being started up and revved while stationary, just before it was slowly driven inside, to the Alfa Romeo stand.
As a reminder, the 4C is powered by a 1.75-liter turbocharged engine, which makes 236 hp (240 PS) and if this low-quality video is anything to go by, the soundtrack could be one of the car's primary standout "features", despite being a four-cylinder unit.
The engine seems to be rev happy, and with a typical Alfa four-pot thrum, complimented by the audible turbocharger whine, it should make for an interesting driving experience.
The car goes on sale in Europe this September, where it will retail for €60,000 ($78,000), while prospective US buyers have to wait before pricing is confirmed. According to Alfa CEO Harald Wester, American sales will take begin before the end of 2013, after the 4C makes its US premiere at the LA Motor Show, in November.
