Opel Mokka Racks Up 100,000 Orders, 1.4-liter Turbo Petrol Now Available with FWD

|

Seven months after the Mokka arrived at dealerships in Europe, Opel has received 100,000 orders for its new sub-compact crossover. Many of these orders came from Germany, Russia, UK, Italy and France.
“To keep it headed to the top, we’re making the Mokka even more attractive with new powertrains and high-end infotainment units – and thereby appealing to additional customers,” said Duncan Aldred, Acting Vice President Sales, Marketing & Aftersales at Opel/Vauxhall.
Initially only available with adaptive all-wheel drive and six-speed manual transmission, the 140 PS (138hp) 1.4-liter Turbo gasoline engine can now be combined with front-wheel drive and six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
With a six-speed manual transmission and Start/Stop, the Mokka averages 5.9 liters per 100 km (39.9 US mpg) and emits 139 g/km CO2. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.9 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 193 km/h (120 mph).
Interior updates include two new infotainment systems – CD 600 and Navi 950 – available with a 7-inch color display. There’s also a premium Bose audio system fitted with six loudspeakers, subwoofers and digital amplifier. On the outside the Mokka is now available with a new five-spoke design for 19-inch wheels and the Orange Rock metallic color.
Prices in Germany for the new front-wheel drive model with the 1.4-liter Turbo gasoline engine and six-speed automatic transmission start at €23,480 ($30,930). A manual transmission version is also offered in most markets.
